Following thorough beatings of then-No. 7 North Carolina Tar Heels on the road and the Penn State Nittany Lions at home, the Ohio State Buckeyes’ men’s basketball team has risen from No. 6 to No. 3 in the most recent AP Top 25 Poll. Michigan and Virginia losses, as well as Maryland’s very tight win over Illinois at home paved the way for Ohio State to make the leap into the top three. Following two losses last week, the Tar Heels dropped to No. 17.
This is the highest Ohio State has been ranked since January of 2014, when Thad Matta’s Buckeyes, led by Aaron Craft and LaQuinton Ross, started the season 15-0 en route to an NCAA Tournament appearance.
