Ohio State has long enjoyed a special relationship with LeBron James, one that coach Thad Matta has enthusiastically embraced.
Now, with the hiring of assistant coach Chris Jent, the ties between “King James” and the university he has said he would have attended if he’d not been allowed to bypass college figure to strengthen even further – even if Jent and James haven’t spoken in a while.
“It’s obviously great, him being an Ohio guy,” Jent said today at his inaugural news conference. “He didn’t attend the university, but he sees it as what it should be seen as and that’s a great institution.
