Ohio State men's basketball | Freshman Grandstaff decides to transfer

Citing a poor fit, freshman guard Austin Grandstaff is transferring out of the Ohio State basketball program.

The decision came after a 67-54 win on Wednesday over Northern Illinois, a game in which Grandstaff tied a season low with four minutes of playing time.

“I just feel like I need to do what is best for me,” he said. “All the coaches have been great to me, but I just feel like this isn’t the right fit.”

A well-regarded shooter out of Rockwell, Texas, Grandstaff was rated the No. 50 recruit in the nation and a four-star prospect by ESPN.
