In a predicable move, Ohio State middle linebacker Raekwon McMillan declared for the 2017 NFL Draft on Wednesday. The junior announced his decision on Twitter.
A former five-star recruit who was the nation’s top-ranked middle linebacker as a high school senior, the Georgia native enrolled at Ohio State in January 2014 with sky-high expectations. Three years later, McMillan leaves Columbus as a two-time first team All-Big Ten selection, an All-American, and a national champion who twice led the Buckeyes in tackles.
Hype fulfilled.
As a freshman on the 2014 national championship team, McMillan — whose awesome first name comes the Wu-Tang Clan rapper with the same moniker — played in a timeshare with senior Curtis Grant at middle linebacker.
