The Buckeyes have been at the top of college football for the entire season; but that has suddenly changed. With the first week of the College Football Playoff rankings revealed on Tuesday night, Ohio State finds themselves ranked third.
Clemson was awarded the top spot, followed by LSU, Ohio State and then Alabama to round out the top four.
Clearly the committee favors strength of schedule, as the Buckeyes have not played against anyone currently ranked in the top 25. That should change though, with upcoming games against #7 Michigan State and #17 Michigan. Should the Buckeyes get to the Big Ten Championship game, they will likely face Iowa who is now ranked 9th.
