Ohio State junior Will Grimmer started the 2018 US Open with an opening round of 73. Grimmer shot three over par, and currently stands tied at No. 19 entering Friday's second round.

Grimmer finished 2017 as second-team All-Big Ten while Ohio State finished as Big Ten Championship runner-up.
