Ohio State Football: With Urban Meyer Size Matters.

When Urban Meyer took over as head coach of Ohio State he realized he had holes to fill, especially to run the offense he envisioned. But he also wanted bigger players in a certain unit than he had on the roster to run that offense.

When Urban arrived at Ohio State his recruiting class was already more than half completed. And the only two linemen in the 2012 class was 6’2” Jacoby Boren and 6’3” Pat Elflein. Urban soon proved that size matters to him when it comes to offensive linemen.

He only had 10 scholarships left to offer and three went to offensive linemen 6’6” or taller, Joey O’Connor, Kyle Dodson, and Taylor Decker who stands 6’8”.
