Former Indiana coach Kevin Wilson has been hired by coach Urban Meyer as offensive coordinator at Ohio State, a fact the university confirmed Tuesday after almost a week of speculation.
One reason the Buckeyes were slow to acknowledge the news, insiders told The Dispatch, was because Meyer wanted to give ousted coordinator Ed Warinner — a member of his original OSU staff starting in 2012 and a respected offensive line coach — time to find a job elsewhere. That job will be as offensive line coach at Minnesota for new coach P.J. Fleck, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported.
Wilson already was on the job at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, taking over Warinner’s duties as coordinator and tight ends coach.
