Ed Warinner’s departure from the Ohio State coaching staff was viewed as almost inevitable with the hiring today of former Indiana coach Kevin Wilson as offensive coordinator.
Sports Illustrated reported that Warinner will in fact leave the Buckeyes to become the offensive line coach at Minnesota under newly hired P.J. Fleck.
Warinner served as Ohio State’s line coach and co-coordinator from 2012 to 2015, joining Urban Meyer’s staff after coaching at Notre Dame. In his first year and again in 2014, his tutelage of mostly new units was instrumental in the Buckeyes’ success.
The 2012 team went undefeated.
