Ohio State returned to Columbus from its game against at Virginia Tech at 4 a.m. Tuesday, and almost immediately began preparations for Saturday’s game against Hawaii.
“It’s awful,” Meyer said tonight after the Buckeyes’ first practice for the Rainbow Warriors.
In fact, Meyer said that Ohio State petitioned the NCAA a waiver to allow coaches to have preparation time with players the day after the Virginia Tech game, and the request was denied.
On paper, the short turnaround shouldn’t matter that much. Hawaii is hardly a power, its 28-20 victory over Colorado last Thursday notwithstanding. Ohio State is a 40-point favorite.
