Ohio State football | Struggles in the red zone

So close and yet so far.

That describes Ohio State’s struggles this season on offense. It’s even more appropriate to sum up the Buckeyes’ issues as they have gotten near their opponents’ end zone.

So close and yet so far.

Last season, the Buckeyes were superb cashing in when they crossed their opponents’ 20-yard line. They got a touchdown almost 72 percent of the time once inside the red zone.

This year, Ohio State has been dismal in that situation. The Buckeyes have only six touchdowns in 16 attempts after reaching the opponents’ 20. In their past three games, the red zone has been practically radioactive.
