Urban Meyer made no secret of his disappointment in the playing development of Tommy Schutt a year ago. The coach was looking for quality depth from Schutt and others for Ohio State’s interior defensive line, but in Meyer’s mind, it always seemed to be lacking.
Now, jump forward to this preseason camp. Meyer certainly has.
“Schutt’s had a good camp,” Meyer said. “The clock has been ticking; he’s really handling himself the right way. He’s one of our top-five most improved.”
The clock is ticking on the senior defensive lineman’s college career.
Schutt, the first player to commit to Ohio State after Meyer was hired in late 2011, played in 10 games in his freshman season and drew good reviews in terms of potential.
