In a somewhat surprising move, coach Urban Meyer chose three players to be Ohio State Captains for 2016 shortly after last season was finished. The coach picked players who were not only leaders on the field but those who were leaders off the field as well.
J.T. Barrett and Pat Elflein were to lead the young team on the offensive side of the ball. Middle linebacker Raekwon McMillan would take care of the defensive players and that has worked out quite well.
The Ohio State Captain has led the Buckeye defense to some impressive numbers this season.
