Dispatch sports reporter/columnist Rob Oller each week finds a former Buckeye for a question-and-answer session.
John Brockington
Years at Ohio State: 1967-70
Age: 67

John Brockington came to Columbus from Brooklyn, N.Y., where college football was overshadowed by basketball, but an Ohio State alumnus recommended that Woody Hayes recruit the big running back. Following his time with the Buckeyes, Brockington was drafted ninth overall by the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed a successful NFL career, including rookie of the year honors in 1971 and becoming the first player in history to rush for 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons.
