Younger fans mostly know Jim Lachey as color analyst on the Ohio State radio network -- he is working his 20th season in the booth; play-by-play voice Paul Keels has been doing it for 19 years -- but the former Buckeyes guard was protecting quarterbacks long before he was talking into a microphone. Named an All-American as a senior, Lachey went to San Diego as the 12th overall pick of the 1985 draft.
