Ohio State football | Penn State presents different challenge

Here’s the thing about a college football defense trying to fix mistakes from one week to the next: It can be like correcting answers on a physics exam while preparing for a chemistry test.

So it has been for Ohio State.

The Buckeyes are unbeaten but still slightly embarrassed that running quarterbacks have made them look silly at times in wins over Indiana and Maryland. But the challenge this week is different with Penn State featuring pocket-passer Christian Hackenberg and a more traditional offense.

“I see a very confident quarterback, a guy who can make all the throws,” OSU co-defensive coordinator Chris Ash said of Hackenberg.
