Jake Moretti decided over the Fourth of July weekend to make a declaration of allegiance to the Ohio State 2017 football recruiting class.
The offensive lineman from Arvada (Pomona), Colo., ranked 10th among tackle prospects nationally by 247sports.com, became the seventh commitment to that class for the Buckeyes, who also are still working to fill their 2016 class. Moretti said he knew OSU was his future destination a few weeks ago as he, his father, Matt, and his younger brother Kyle drove away from campus after a visit during the Buckeyes’ summer camp.
“There was just something about it, the culture, the aura,” Moretti, 16, recounted by phone Sunday.
