PHOENIX — On arrival here on Saturday, Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly spoke of the challenge his team faces in taking on Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl on Friday. Along the way, he knew that he was channeling a national-championship-winning coach from the Fighting Irish’s past.
“So, all hands on deck, and we’ll muster the guys that we’ve got and do the best we can against Ohio State,” Kelly said after saying that his players had made the grade academically and that there were no new debilitating injuries. Then he looked around and added, “Did that sound like Lou Holtz?
