Ohio State football | Northern Illinois' switch to odd front puts Buckeyes offense on skids

When one team works to discombobulate another, the affected team is discombobulated.

Coach Urban Meyer wheeled out that word on Saturday to describe Ohio State’s offense in general and its passing game in particular, but people knew what he meant.

“There’s a little discombobulation that’s got to get worked out, and we’ve got good players, good coaches, good scheme,” Meyer said after a 20-13 win over Northern Illinois at Ohio Stadium that featured a second straight fitful outing for the offense.

The Buckeyes were favored by a huge margin over their Mid-American Conference opponent, but their running game was muddled when the Huskies switched to an odd-man front after using an even front in their first two games.
