After Nick Vannett was called by Seattle to become the 10th Ohio State player taken in the 2016 NFL draft late Friday night – a record for one school through three rounds – the question wasn’t whether he was excited but whether his parents have been hoarding frequent-flyer miles.
“Exactly, because I am going clear across the country,” Vannett told The Dispatch, laughing.
But as the Westerville Central product said, he’d go clear across an ocean if it meant he’d been drafted by an NFL team.
“It’s pretty crazy when you get that call,” said Vannett, who killed time playing cards with buddies while watching things unfold on television.
