Ohio State Football: New Assistant Coach Hired With Shelley’s Approval?

Bill Davis has been hired as an assistant coach at Ohio State. It appears he will probably take over as linebacker coach, the position vacated when Luke Fickell took the head coaching position at the University of Cincinnati. I’m sure the decision was given the seal of approval by Shelley Meyer.

Not only has Davis spent 24 years as an assistant coach in the NFL, he was Urban’s best man in his wedding. He has obviously been vetted by the coach’s wife.

Davis has been a special advisor to the Ohio State football staff this season. It was basically a trial to see if there may be a spot for him on the coaching staff or if he would move back to the NFL.
