Ohio State football | Meyer makes change to kicking game

Sean Nuernberger won back the placekicking job for Ohio State in a couple of competitions this week, coach Urban Meyer announced after practice Wednesday.

The sophomore, who was the starter as a freshman on the Buckeyes’ 2014 national championship team, will handle the extra-point attempts and field-goal tries when OSU plays at Illinois on Saturday. Fifth-year player Jack Willoughby, a graduate transfer from Duke who had won the starting job in preseason camp, still will do kickoffs, Meyer said.

Willoughby was 7 of 11 on field-goal attempts through the first nine games, with his longest being a 39-yarder against Penn State.
