PHOENIX — In the three weeks since the Fiesta Bowl matchup was announced as Ohio State against Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish have gotten good news at defensive tackle while the Buckeyes have gotten bad news that became worse.
Jarron Jones, an outstanding senior who suffered a knee injury in preseason camp and missed all of the regular season, is expected to return for Notre Dame.
But for Ohio State, All-America senior Adolphus Washington was suspended after being cited for solicitation earlier this month. Then, the other starter, senior Tommy Schutt, was knocked out because of what had been described as a foot injury.
