Jacoby Boren simply doesn’t fit into the conventional mold of a major-college football player.
For starters, some believed that at 6 feet 2 and 285 pounds, he was too short and/or too small to play on the offensive line at a place like Ohio State. The reality is, however, that he has played since he was a freshman, was the starting center on the 2014 national championship team and, as a senior this season, is considered a viable candidate for the Rimington Award, which goes to the nation’s top center.
For another, major-college football players are supposed to be stressed when it comes to the juggling of academics and the time demands of preparing for football games from week to week in the fall.
