Jack Park, a leading Ohio State football historian, checks in each week during the college football season with a retrospective about the Buckeyes.
Urban Meyer’s all-time won-lost record is 143-26 following Ohio State’s 42-24 victory at Virginia Tech on Monday night. With a winning percentage of .846, Meyer is deadlocked with Pennsylvania’s George Woodruff (1892-1901) as the third all-time winningest major-college football coach (minimum 10 years at an FBS institution).
With an OSU victory over Hawaii in Saturday’s home-opener, Meyer would trail only two Notre Dame legends: Knute Rockne (.8812) and Frank Leahy (.8643).
