Maurice Clarett was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and led the Ohio State football team to an unbelievable run to clinch the 2002 National Championship by defeating the Miami Hurricanes. His two pivotal plays including “the strip” and scoring the go-ahead touchdown was instrumental in the Buckeyes capturing the title in the desert.
Despite being drafted in the 3rd round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, Clarett found his life in a downward spiral. After he found himself serving a 7.5-year sentence, he took the same work ethic and discipline that brought him success on the football field and began to invest that same energy into himself while he was in prison.
