As heat and humidity grip central Ohio, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer did Thursday what he’s always done in the Buckeyes’ preseason camp. He took it down the road.
The No. 5 Buckeyes practiced at Coffey Road Park, just across the Olentangy River from Ohio Stadium for the first time this year on Thursday. Like last year, it will be their home field away from home through the scrimmage of Aug. 20, and thus the place where jobs are won or lost for a team that is replacing 16 starters.
Counting Thursday’s workout, 13 of the team’s 29 preseason practices will be at Coffey, including the crucial two-a-day sessions which begin Friday.
