As Urban Meyer opened his fourth preseason camp at Ohio State on Monday morning, there wasn’t a lot of yelling and screaming going on. There seldom is in a Meyer-run practice. it was all about putting first-year players, primarily freshmen, through the basics.
The veterans returning from the Buckeyes’ 2014 national championship team will take to the practice field for the first time Monday afternoon as No.1 Ohio State, favored to repeat by most preseason prognosticators, puts the first day of camp in the books.
Meyer and his coaches don’t believe in a lot of rah-rah when it comes to practices, as he no doubt stressed to the newbies.
