Ohio State has hired veteran NFL assistant coach Bill Davis to join its coaching staff next year, the program announced today.
Davis has coached in the NFL for 24 years, including seven as a defensive coordinator. He had that job from 2013-15 with the Philadelphia Eagles under Chip Kelly. Davis has spent this season as an analyst inside Ohio State’s program.
A Youngstown native, Davis also served as defensive coordinator for Arizona from 2009-10 and San Francisco from 2005-06.
In the news release, Ohio State said that Davis’ role on the staff and position group will be determined after the conclusion of this season.
