Four decades after last playing college football, former Ohio State linebacker Randy Gradishar is still picking up awards.
Gradishar, a two-time All-American with the Buckeyes in the 1970s who went on to an All-Pro career with the Denver Broncos, was named the 2015 Bronko Nagurski Legends Award winner by the Charlotte (N.C.) Touchdown Club on Tuesday in conjunction with the Football Writers Association of America. The award, which recognizes outstanding defensive football players from the past 40 years, will be presented Dec. 7.
“I had the privilege of playing college football at an outstanding university, with tremendous teammates and for one of the greatest coaches ever,” Gradishar said in a news release, referring to former OSU coach Woody Hayes.
