COLUMBUS: With all due respect to Bowling Green and Tulsa, they were just studio rehearsal for the dance.
There might be bigger waltzes down the line for the Ohio State football team, but going on the road to face teams like 14th-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday are the reasons many future Buckeyes come to Columbus.
“Of the talented teams, I think the two we’ve faced [are] both going to win games, [but] this one’s real,” Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said. “Real, real.”
Tulsa gave the Buckeyes a half of football before folding, but the fact the Buckeyes’ first two wins came by a combined score of 125-13 shows the non-conference games were more pomp than they were circumstantial.
