COLUMBUS: The 100,000-plus attending Ohio State’s game against Penn State on Saturday night will be draped in black instead of scarlet and gray, but they won’t be the only ones.
The Buckeyes will be donning special all-black jerseys, courtesy of Nike, for this one game. At first, the reaction was that an all-black scheme for a school with such a heavy tradition wouldn’t work.
“No way. No chance,” was head coach Urban Meyer’s initial reaction when he heard about the idea. Then he saw the actual design. “Whoa. It looked really sharp.”
Pictures of the Nike jerseys have been released online.
