Being cussed at by a football coach is one thing, Jalyn Holmes said. In fact, it could be called tradition. Then there is not being cussed at by a coach.
“Actually, it’s worse,” said Holmes, an Ohio State defensive end.
But it’s the atmosphere he and the other players in the defensive line's meeting room have had to get used to going on three seasons with Larry Johnson as their position coach. He occasionally blurts “Santa Claus” or “gosh doggy” when he’s riled up, end Sam Hubbard said, but never down-and-dirty expletives.
Then there is Johnson's pause and stare.
