Ohio State jumped 4 spots to No. 6 in this week’s CFP ratings and Oklahoma moved up to No. 5. Apparently a 62-39 victory over the No. 4 team in the country wasn’t as impressive as a 59-56 win in over West Virginia.
The CFP Committee often says they look at a team’s total body of work but also evaluates them by how they have played recently. If that is the case, the fact that the Oklahoma defense has given up at least 40 points in each of the last four games is just fine but Ohio State’s struggles on that side of the ball isn’t.
