Ohio State’s quarterback competition continues, its leader known only by the coaches, if even by them.
So Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett compete day after day, doing everything they can to earn the right to operate the Tesla that is the Buckeyes’ offense. As they toil, they understand that only one of them can emerge as the starter. What happens to the other? Could they rotate to some degree so that the nonstarter sees meaningful playing time?
Although that would seem a nice consolation prize, neither Barrett nor Jones endorsed the idea when it was posed to them at media day on Sunday.
