Ohio State football | Buckeyes trying to get Ezekiel Elliott back on track

Among the remedies offered for Ohio State’s ailing offense is the notion that nothing has gone wrong that a 200-yard game from running back Ezekiel Elliott couldn’t cure.

Coach Urban Meyer is up for that. He knows that if Elliott takes off on a few big runs on Saturday against Western Michigan, it will mean that several problems with the offense have been addressed.

Except for an 80-yard touchdown run early in a season-opening victory at Virginia Tech, though, it has been tough sledding for Elliott.

“We know exactly why,” Meyer said on Tuesday. “We’re not controlling the line of scrimmage, and when we do, we’re not getting the perimeter blocking like we normally do.
