Ryan Day seems to have this whole transfer portal recruiting down pat. The second-year head coach landed coveted QB Justin Fields and OL Jonah Jackson in the portal’s debut last season and now has just pulled former Oklahoma RB Trey Sermon to Columbus.
The backfield seemed to be an area of concern for Ohio State heading into 2020, but following Sermon’s commitment there is far more clarity.
Ohio State was already listed among the National Title favorites entering the year, but with the RB position now adding depth the Buckeyes should become the favorite. Justin Fields already had an arsenal of weapons at his disposal and Sermon could be the piece that makes the Ohio State offense indefensible.
