The Ohio State football team and head coach Ryan Day had a busy weekend of recruiting that culminated in the verbal commitments of two top players. Glenville’s Bryce West and Damarion Witten committed to the home-state team within a 24-hour span of each other.
These were massive gets for the Buckeyes, especially West, who is a top-50 national player at cornerback. The need for talented players in the secondary is apparent, and keeping an in-state kid with five-star potential is crucial for cornerbacks coach Tim Walton. It was also important because Michigan went after West hard and came up empty.
