It is called the St. Valentine’s Day workout, but Ohio State football players have used another name for it.
On Wednesday, senior center Pat Elflein called what the Buckeyes endured early this morning the “St. Valentine’s Massacre.”
Head strength coach Mickey Marotti said it’s “not very much different” than some of the Buckeyes’ other more strenuous workouts, such as one last Friday.
Try telling the players that.
“The strength coaches will decorate the whole hallway leading to the weight room,” Elflein said. “Last year (former assistant strength) coach (Anthony) Schlegel had on a Jason mask and had a chainsaw -- obviously without the chain on it -- and he’s ripping the chainsaw.
