The Buckeyes have lost most of the nucleus from teams that went 50-4 in coach Urban Meyer’s first four seasons. Then nine underclassmen — a few unexpected — joined the 2015 seniors in pursuing their NFL dreams now. Only six starters remain.
Ohio State won’t be the preseason No. 1 next season. The Buckeyes will not be clear favorites to win the Big Ten.
But when Meyer and three of his assistants met with the media on Thursday, they were brimming with optimism.
