There is an NCAA rule that allows college football teams to use players who aren’t on the roster to participate on the scout team in preparation for a bowl game. Should the NCAA get rid of that rule because it gives Ohio State an advantage over most other teams?
For example, Bobby Carpenter, Zack Boren and Brian Hartline came back to help the Buckeyes prepare for the Fiesta Bowl. Most teams don’t have as many talented players who are willing to help out their alma mater, and can still play football at a high level.
According to offensive coordinator Ed Warinner, Carpenter gave the Ohio State offense a look at what the Clemson ends/linebackers may give them off the edge.
