Only a few Ohio State fans got to drink beer and wine inside the ’Shoe on Saturday, but many others let their opinions flow on the subject.
With the Buckeyes’ home opener, a 38-0 win over the University of Hawaii, Ohio State has begun selling alcohol in some premium seating areas.
If all goes well, the university has said, it will consider selling beer and wine throughout the stadium. This is part of a trend throughout college football, with the University of Texas and others among the 35 or so schools that already serve alcohol.
“At the price they’re charging, I wouldn’t buy a beer here,” said Pat Wolf, 40, of Bexley, whose seat was in the lower bowl, where alcohol is not served.
