Ohio State football: A real test for Buckeyes defense ends with questions about what it really is

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- As if Michigan State wanted to somehow rub it in more, the Spartans went with the Ohio guy to help put Ohio State away.

Michigan State running back L.J. Scott, whom Ohio State let slip away to the Spartans in the recruiting process, and who was seldom used before Saturday's fourth quarter, ran for 46 yards on 10 carries in the fourth quarter and helped seal the Spartans' win.

It doesn't matter to the Buckeyes that Scott is from Ohio, not after losing a game like that. What should matter, and what does matter, is that Scott's fourth-quarter success was part of a larger problem.
