Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer left no doubt today about the pecking order at quarterback this week with the expected return of J.T. Barrett from a one-game suspension.
“If J.T. has a good week of practice he will get the start against Illinois,” Meyer said.
Cardale Jones made his eighth start of the season on Saturday night in place of Barrett in a 28-14 victory over Minnesota. Barrett was suspended after being cited for OVI during the Buckeyes’ off weekend. He is due in court Tuesday morning to have his case resolved.
Barrett had earned the starting job headed into the previous game at Rutgers and had an outstanding performance in that win.
