The transfer portal can be used as a key tool for the Ohio State football team moving forward. It is a new concept to college football and it can be used to fill roster voids when in need.
The Buckeyes and coach Ryan Day are most certainly in need of some depth in the secondary. Losing three starters and position coach Jeff Hafley, the Buckeyes are going to need to reload that room.
The Scarlet and Gray did a good job after losing Hafley in keeping most of their secondary recruiting class around. They did, however, lose a big-time prospect in Clark Phillips who could have seen immediate action as a true freshman.
