Ohio State edged out another tight game against an unranked mid-major opponent Friday, with a 10-point win over Niagara.
After needing a game-winner in the waning moments to defeat Akron in Tuesday’s season opener, the Buckeyes side-stepped defeat once again at the Schottenstein Center in the second game of the year, handing the Purple Eagles a 84-74 loss in Columbus. The Buckeyes never trailed in the second half, but with less than a minute to play, the Purple Eagles were down only six points, and Niagara trailed just one point at halftime.
E.J. Liddell finished with a career-high 29 points to lead Ohio State, giving him two straight games with at least 25 points to start the season for the Buckeyes.
