Every time Colin Zeng dived into the water on Saturday, his nose gushed blood.
Given what was at stake, the Ohio State sophomore wasn’t going to let it deter him.
In second place headed into his final dive, Zeng executed a nearly flawless one to win the NCAA men’s platform diving championship at Georgia Tech’s McAuley Pool on Saturday.
He became the first Ohio State diver to win a diving national championship since 2008.
“I was pretty comfortable on the platform yesterday,” Zeng said. “I was calm. I wasn’t nervous. Before the meet, I told myself to go for it and not to worry about anything and not hold anything back.
