With the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected former Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa. The defensive game-changer was widely considered the best player in this year’s class, despite the fact that he only played two and a half games in his junior season, following an injury suffered against TCU that required season-ending surgery.
In his two-plus seasons in Columbus, Bosa accounted for 77 tackles, including 29 for loss and 17.5 sacks. He was a 2016 ESPN Freshman All-American, and was the Big Ten’s Smith–Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2017.
