COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Get ready for a revamped Ohio State secondary in 2016.
Buckeyes sophomore cornerback Eli Apple announced on Monday that he plans to enter the 2016 NFL Draft, forgoing his final two years of eligibility. Apple posted the news on his public Twitter account.
His announcement comes one day after safety Tyvis Powell announced his decision to forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the draft. It's expected junior safety Vonn Bell will do the same, though Bell hasn't made a public decision yet.
"Thanks to Coach (Urban) Meyer for his leadership, Coach (Luke) Fickell and Coach (Chris) Ash for believing in my talents and helping me develop," Apple wrote in part of a statement on Twitter, "Coach (Kerry) Coombs for helping me develop in my position, as a unit leader and as a young man.
