Ohio State Commit Marcus Johnson Wins Ohio Mr. Basketball, Gatorade Player of the Year

Marcus Johnson is already collecting some prestigious hardware.

On Thursday, the Ohio State commit and 247Sports composite top-30 prospect was named Ohio Mr. Basketball and the state's Gatorade Player of the Year after a stellar campaign for Garfield Heights in his junior year. He joins his father, Sonny Johnson, as the only two players in Garfield Heights history to be named Ohio Mr. Basketball.

Marcus Johnson led the Bulldogs to the Ohio High School Division III State Final Four this season with elite scoring and passing and nearly willed his team to a state title game with a 25-point performance in a 49-48 loss to Louisville.
